What is the theme for IASP 2014, Doha?
The theme for this year is “Science Parks: where technology goes to work” to show the development in the nature of work that should currently be adopted by science parks. It highlights the concept of a space “where constant work is being done” to develop tomorrow’s technology as opposed to a static location for mere research purposes. Thus, “science parks are where technology goes to work.”
Where is IASP 2014, Doha taking place?

Qatar has a vision to create a vibrant culture of innovation and entrepreneurship – a profound transformation of an economy that has traditionally been driven by traders and large state-owned enterprises. Qatar National Vision 2030 provides the guiding framework for this rapid all-out growth of the country, and commits the government to work on creating a competitive and knowledge-based economy through the re-investment of Qatar’s significant oil and gas wealth.
By undertaking several socio-economic reforms, Qatar has developed dramatically since 2005 by transforming itself into one of the most dynamic and fastest growing economies in the world. Qatar was ranked 14th – and the highest in the MENA region – in the World Economic Forum competitiveness index for 2011-2012.
The country also demonstrated a huge commitment to research and development when His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, announced in 2006 that the government would spend 2.8%of its GDP on research.
